No denying now; I am an old soul. One of a few, that are in a wired universe of youthful exuberance and blissful ignorance.

I never heard of getting in trouble for hair that's too SHORT!!
Oh for heaven's sake!
That young man looks so well groomed, you'd think he would be on the Honor Roll and Student Council. What a message to give a young person at the age of 12 -- that you'll be scrutinized so closely for the rest of your life.
One of my coworkers, a black man who had been in the Marine Corp and graduated from one of the best business schools in the US, said that a white man can show up at work without his shoes shined, and he will be viewed as just too busy to spend time on that, or he'll be seen as the absent-minded professor type. If a black man arrives at the office with unshined shoes, he will be viewed as lazy.
I hope I will live long enough to see my coworker proven wrong, but longevity does not run in my family.
P.S. I loved that song from Hair. Now I am going to think of that boy in the news story whenever I hear it.
Weird Huh!
I hope I didn't ruin the song for anyone, but that's the first thing that came into my mind when I read the article.
No, you did not ruin the song for me. But you did make me think how authority makes itself felt by controlling the way we style our hair. Thank you, Hathor.
