One Year Ago

When I started this blog, I had pent up emotions and thoughts. I have gotten most of that out. I still don't have a particular theme, but the point of view has moved more toward the political. I would have liked to have had more readers among the traffic, but I don't care to do those things that would bring me more traffic. I have no idea what direction if any this blog will go, but I know I'll keep on posting. I would also like to thank those who stayed awhile and got to know this blog.

Congratulations on your first year. You're probably right to stay away from the memes etc, in my experience rarely does anyone visit apart from the allotted time.

I don't comment on your political posts because I don't very often understand the details, and I'm not sure that it's right for an "outsider" to comment anyway.

Thank you. You know that what happened when I was mentioned in a Crooks and Liars post. A hugh amount of traffic for about three days and then later only one or two return visitors.

Thank you for your comment regarding the September Carnival essay.

In response to the diversity issue, when we are different than others in a learning envireonment it allows us to educate our compassion. It is too often that children are schooled with those that share similar economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and become apathetic to "the other".

It is also interesting to see how this aspect affects community. I have always found the richest communities ones that reveal economic, ethnic and cultural diversity.

Everyone should ride on the train!

Thanks for stopping by here. I hope there will be more interesting topics for the Carnival, hopefully one that I can submit a post.

Yours is a good take on things Hathor, though I don't comment here I still come from time to time. I do get the gift that I obtain little elsewhere. A different take on things.

I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to video games and talk radio, not that they are not valuable as sources of study, just that I do not find them useful to my personal life. But I have learned from your "take" so that I feel somewhat competent to advise my children when they ask me questions regarding their children. Please note I say "somewhat competent."

I hope it has been a good year for you Hathor, the time I've spent looking in is appreciated by me.

Hathor, I like your blog, and I still think that you ought to write your autobiography. You say that your life isn't that interesting, but whether that's correct or not, you've lived in interesting times, and you have a special, intelligent perspective on events. Why not do it?

Happy Anniversary, by the way, and I do like the new look. Mysterious in a different way...

kapok,
Your visits are appreciated. When I check my stats, I just like to see that visitors stay long enough to read a post, although, I do appreciate comments. I think I am almost as clueless as you with the modern video games. My son was into games when there were 8 bit game systems. He doesn't appear to lust after games now as an adult. He doesn't own a game system.
Thanks for you comment.

Jeffery,
Thank You!
I have probably not done enough reflection on what has guided my life or formed my personality. I think my personality has been the reasons for my failures which seem to outnumber the success. Title may be,"A Day Late" or "A Missed Opportunity." My earlier life hasn't jived with my later life.

Just finished Obama's Dreams From my Father. I haven't fixed any thoughts that I like to share yet. Just wanted to let you know.

Thanks, Hathor, for your reply. I only now got around to checking for it due to the onset of this semester.

My own life could use the same titles as yours.

On Obama ... I'd almost forgotten about him. I still want to read his second book, but I may wait until later in the campaign when issues will become sharper. His first book began well, and overall, I liked it quite a lot, though it did tend to drag a bit, for me, when he told of his African experiences. He seemed less familiar with that, always looking on from the outside ... or was that me?

Jeffery,
No is was not you and I think Obama actually feels like an outsider.
