You know hathor I have literally rode my bike by that area a hundred times over the last 4 years while riding my bike and at that time period too. But I have never really stopped to check out that memorial. One of these days I will have to actually spend a little time down doing just that.
When I visited the Smithsonian some years back, it never occurred to me to visit the monument. I always thought that it was a powerful memorial and after seeing some of the pictures I wish I would have seen it then.
